Our Founder

Hello, my name is Cameron S. Noel. I am a playwright, director, and educator. I'm originally from Glen Allen, VA, but I've lived in the DC area since I was fourteen. I have an MFA in playwriting from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I'm passionate about new play development, and most of my writing centers around social justice disguised as satirical comedy. But when I'm not trying to "save" the world one play at a time, occasionally I write light-hearted children's theater. I've worked with various organizations, such as The DC Theater Lab, Young Playwrights Theater, and Moonlit Wings Theater Camps, to teach kids the fundamentals of playwriting, helping them craft their own narratives.

My Inspiration

The Never Alone Theater Company is a place where the underdog can win. A mentor of mine said, “Playwrights seclude themselves on a mountain to create a script. Then, when they have a script, it’s like, “What do I do now?” I created this organization to provide an artistic community, emotional support, opportunities, and resources. After being told, “We loved your work, but we’re going in a different direction.” I felt like I was circling the drain, simply sending out a submission into the ether, hoping for a response. I aim to use this organization to propel the career and artistry of theater professionals looking for a way into the industry. We welcome all who need an artistic home. When you’re with us, you’re never alone.
